Zelensky: Putin Will Die Soon. He Has No Future — I Do
The Ukrainian president made harsh statements about Putin and said that hatred toward Russians is one of his motivations.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a series of strong remarks in an interview with European media. According to him, “Putin fears only one thing — losing power,” and his political and personal journey is nearing its end.
“He’ll die soon — and it’ll all be over,” Zelensky said, commenting on Russia’s internal situation. He accused Putin of being afraid of economic collapse, international isolation, and the downfall of his regime.
Zelensky emphasized that his advantage lies in his age and political prospects.
“I’m younger. I have a future. He has none,” he said.
He also called on the West to increase pressure on the Kremlin to trigger internal destabilization in Russia. According to Zelensky, sanctions, economic pressure, and political isolation could provoke a societal crisis.
“If they want to show not superpowers but just real power — and if they press Putin, he’ll face societal destabilization,” he stated.
A particularly controversial comment came during an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro, where Zelensky admitted that hatred toward Russians is one of his motivations in the war.
“Sometimes I’m held back by global issues. I want our children and grandchildren to live in a free world. (…) The second motivation is hatred toward Russians,” he said.
These words sparked a wave of criticism, even among former supporters of Ukraine. Observers noted that such statements may burn the last remaining bridges of dialogue and undermine the efforts of Ukraine’s supporters within the Russian-speaking community.
Previously, Zelensky had referred to Putin as an enemy but had not ruled out the possibility of a personal meeting. The tone of his recent remarks reflects growing tension, war fatigue, and a shift toward increasingly uncompromising rhetoric.
