Washington has expressed its readiness to provide military assistance to Israel in the event of a full-scale conflict with the Shiite group Hezbollah in Lebanon. However, this excludes the possibility of sending American soldiers to the battlefield. This information was published in the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

It is reported that such statements were made during a meeting between the head of Israel's National Security Council Tzahi Hanegbi and Minister of Strategic Planning Ron Dermer with their American counterparts in Washington. The discussions raised White House concerns about Hezbollah's ability to overcome Israeli air defences, including the famous Iron Dome system.

US officials said military aid to Israel is necessary to strengthen its defence capabilities. The statement underscores the US commitment to supporting Israel in the face of a potential threat and the importance of strategic security and defence cooperation between the two countries.
