Turkey has received an offer to become a BRICS partner country
Turkish Trade Minister Omer Polat said that BRICS offered Turkey the status of a partner country after applying for membership in September.
Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced that the country has received an offer to become a partner country in the BRICS association. This offer followed Turkey's application for membership in September. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has previously stated Turkey's desire to develop a dialogue with BRICS, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic and political ties with organizations representing developing economies. The status of a partner country provides Turkey with the opportunity to deepen cooperation with BRICS members, including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, as well as with recently joined states such as Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates. This decision reflects Turkey's desire to diversify its foreign economic relations and strengthen its presence in the international arena.
