The agreement aims to develop energy partnerships and strengthen the positions of Turkey and Azerbaijan in the global gas market. Under the agreement, both countries plan joint projects in gas extraction, transportation, and distribution, ensuring supply stability and improving the economic efficiency of cooperation.

One of the key goals of the agreement is to expand export routes for Azerbaijani gas. In recent years, Azerbaijan has significantly increased gas production and exports to Turkey and Europe. This process has been made possible through the development of the Southern Gas Corridor, which includes the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). The new agreements may facilitate further expansion of these pipelines and increase gas supply volumes.

Turkey, as one of the largest consumers of Azerbaijani gas, views cooperation with Azerbaijan as a strategically important step in ensuring energy security. Through this partnership, Ankara aims to reduce dependence on other suppliers while strengthening its position as an energy hub connecting Europe and Asia.

Experts note that energy cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan benefits both sides. For Azerbaijan, it provides an opportunity to expand its export market, attract investments, and enhance energy stability. Turkey, in turn, gains access to reliable gas sources, reducing the risk of supply disruptions and price fluctuations in the global market.

The signing of the agreement marks another step in the development of bilateral relations, which are traditionally built on principles of strategic partnership and mutual support. Turkey and Azerbaijan continue their cooperation not only in energy but also in military, economic, and transport sectors.

Observers believe that strengthening gas cooperation could impact the overall balance of power in the regional energy market. Expanding supply infrastructure will help reduce Europe's dependence on traditional gas suppliers, ensuring more stable and diversified transportation routes.
