Trump Hosts First Iftar at the White House After Returning to Presidency
The American leader thanked Muslims for their support in the election and declared: "I’m with you"
U.S. President Donald Trump hosted a ceremonial iftar dinner at the White House to mark the holy month of Ramadan. This was the first official iftar during his second term in office.
The event was attended by diplomats and representatives of Muslim communities from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Lebanon, Pakistan, and other countries. Trump’s remarks were broadcast live on the official White House YouTube channel.
Addressing the guests, Trump opened with “Happy Ramadan” and thanked American Muslims for their participation in the election:
“Hundreds of thousands of Muslims supported us — and I won’t forget that!”
He highlighted the contributions of American Muslims to the country and pledged to support their interests:
“We keep our word. We work for peace in the Middle East. The Abraham Accords — that’s just the beginning.”
He paid special attention to the state of Michigan, where the Muslim community played a significant role in the election results:
“Muslims of Michigan, you are especially important. As long as I’m in the White House — I’m with you.”
He concluded with:
“You have someone in the White House who loves you.”
Trump’s speech was met with applause. The event was marked by a spirit of political outreach, diplomacy, and religious respect.
