More than 6.5 thousand travel agencies in Kazakhstan are on the verge of bankruptcy, and about 20 thousand specialists may be out of work due to the dominant position of Kaspi Travel. Kaspi Bank provides favorable conditions for Kaspi Travel, including installments through Kaspi.kz which is not available to other agencies.
A crisis in the tourism industry is brewing in Kazakhstan: more than 6.5 thousand independent travel agencies may go bankrupt, and almost 20 thousand specialists risk losing their jobs. The main reason industry representatives call the monopoly position of the Kaspi Travel platform, founded by Kaspi Bank. According to them, the bank provides exclusive conditions only for Kaspi Travel, including the ability to pay for tours in installments through the application Kaspi.kz . As a result, the heads of travel companies sent over 1,000 letters to the President of Kazakhstan and government agencies, demanding to pay attention to the problem.
