The United States is introducing anti-Communism and anti-Chinese propaganda into school lessons
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a law on the mandatory study of anti-communism and anti-Chinese propaganda in schools, based on materials from the Memorial Fund for Victims of Communism.
The US House of Representatives has approved by a majority vote a law that obliges to include in school curricula a course on the study of anti-communism and anti-Chinese propaganda. The educational materials were developed by the Foundation for the Memory of the Victims of Communism (VOCFM), known for its research on communist regimes.
The law is aimed at informing schoolchildren about the "harm of communist ideologies" and modern geopolitical challenges associated with China. The program includes a study of the history of communist regimes, their political repression and economic consequences, as well as an analysis of China's current influence on the world stage.
Supporters of the law claim that it will help the younger generation understand the threats of authoritarianism and totalitarian regimes. However, critics believe that the program can become a tool of political propaganda and increase bias against China, especially in the context of strained U.S.-Chinese relations.
The course is scheduled to be launched next academic year. The legislative initiative has already caused a wide public response, intensifying discussions about the role of politics in the educational system.
