The Spanish government has blocked the arrival of two ships from New York carrying weapons and military supplies destined for Israel. This step confirms Spain's position aimed at limiting the supply of weapons to the conflict zone. Earlier, in May 2024, the Spanish authorities had already prevented a ship with 27 tons of explosives for Israel from entering the port of Cartagena. Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Alvarez said that Spain does not want to contribute to the escalation of the conflict and intends to adhere to a policy aimed at supporting peace initiatives.
