KazMunayGas" has changed its head. The national company is no longer headed by Magzum MIRZAGALIEV.

Askhat KHASENOV has been appointed Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas until the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders. He was presented to the KMG staff by the head of "Samruk-Kazyna" Nurlan Zhakupov. And thanked Mirzagaliyev for the work done - the post of chief of the oil and gas company he held since April 2022.

The website of Samruk-Kazyna says that Askhat Hasenov graduated from the Kazakh National Technical University named after Kanysh Satpayev with a degree in "drilling of oil and gas wells", the University of International Business with a degree in "management".

He started his career in 2005 as a third grade operator of the oil and gas production shop at Turgai Petroleum.

In different years he held responsible positions in state bodies. His last position was Vice-Minister of Energy.

And Magzum Mirzagaliyev worked for three months as an advisor to the President, four months as Minister of Energy and two years as the head of the Ministry of Ecology before managing KMG.
