The Israeli army opened fire on a UNIFIL post in southern Lebanon

On October 22, Israeli forces shelled a UNIFIL post near Dhaira in southern Lebanon. Peacekeepers overseeing an IDF operation to clear nearby houses were forced to retreat to avoid coming under fire, a statement from UNIFIL said.

On October 22, the post of the UNIFIL peacekeepers, located in the Deira area in southern Lebanon, was shelled by the Israeli army. UNIFIL said their guards on duty were forced to retreat after Israeli soldiers, noticing them watching the operation to clear nearby houses, opened fire.
