The growth of shares of US defense companies against the background of conflicts in Ukraine and Israel
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, shares of American defense companies have increased by 48%, according to the SPADE Defense index. Investments in the sector have reached $11 billion. US defense companies continue to show record revenues, despite the current global conflicts.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine and the conflict between Israel and Palestine, shares of American defense companies have grown significantly, according to the SPADE Defense index. The sector showed growth of 48%, and assets invested in exchange-traded funds of the defense sector increased by 268%, reaching $11 billion.
Among the most successful companies are such giants as RTX and Lockheed Martin, whose quarterly revenues amounted to 202 billion and 159 billion dollars, respectively. Boeing, despite recent problems, continues to hold a $529 billion order book.
Despite problems with supply chains and hiring additional personnel, defense companies continue to increase production of weapons to support military operations in Ukraine and Israel. As of June 30, 2024, the SPADE Defense index showed an increase of 11.5% year-on-year, which confirms the high stability and profitability of the sector.
In the future, even with the possible end of current conflicts, US defense companies will continue to earn money by targeting potential hot spots in other regions of the world, including Asia, Oceania, Europe and the Middle East.
