Mass protests took place in the Syrian province of As-Suwayda against the Israeli occupation of Syrian territories. Demonstrators also condemned statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who previously called for the complete demilitarization of southern Syria, including the provinces of Quneitra, Daraa, and As-Suwayda.

Netanyahu stated that Israel would not allow the new Syrian government or the New Syrian Army to operate south of Damascus. These remarks sparked outrage among the local population, who believe such demands violate Syria's sovereignty and constitute interference in its internal affairs.

Protests and Residents' Demands
Residents of As-Suwayda took to the streets to express their opposition to Israel's policies regarding occupied Syrian territories. Protesters declared that they would not allow any Israeli influence in southern Syria and voiced their support for the country's unity.

Demonstrators emphasized that As-Suwayda, Quneitra, and Daraa are an inseparable part of Syria and that any Israeli military or political actions in the region would be considered an act of aggression.

Position of the Syrian Leadership
As of now, the official government in Damascus has not issued a formal response to Netanyahu's statements. However, Syria has consistently opposed any attempts of Israeli influence over its territories and considers the Golan Heights and other occupied areas as an integral part of the country.

Syrian authorities may appeal to the international community, including the United Nations, to prevent further Israeli actions in the region. Meanwhile, the political and military situation in southern Syria remains tense, especially given the activity of various armed groups.

Geopolitical Consequences
The demilitarization of southern Syria, as demanded by Israel, could escalate tensions in the region. Damascus, with the support of its allies, is likely to resist such demands, while Israel may increase military pressure along its borders.

Observers note that the situation in As-Suwayda, Daraa, and Quneitra could become a new flashpoint in the Middle East if diplomatic solutions are not found.
