Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin has said that President Aleksandar Vucic may be threatened after recent assassination attempts on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo and US presidential candidate Donald Trump. In an interview with RIA Novosti, Vulin expressed concern that leaders who support a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine are being targeted.
"When there was an assassination attempt on Mr. Fitzo and then on Trump, I told President Vucic to be ready. All those who are in favor of a peaceful solution for Ukraine are in danger, someone is trying to eliminate them," Vulin said.
Aleksandar Vulin, who previously headed the Defense Ministry, Interior Ministry and the Serbian Security and Information Agency (BIA), emphasized that this situation requires increased attention to the security of the Serbian leader. In light of these events, there is growing concern in Serbia for the safety of President Vucic, who has repeatedly spoken out in favor of a diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
