Scandal in the USA: AI called a black client a monkey, reports the New York Post
The incident with artificial intelligence, which called a black customer "monkey" in a chain of restaurants, released a scandal in the USA. The New York Post reports that the injured man named Marquis was insulted after receiving a check with such a text.
The scandal broke out in the USA after the AI system in the Chick-A restaurant issued an offensive check to a black client. According to the New York Post, a man named Marquis arrived at the pickup and gave his name to pick up the order. However, the artificial intelligence controlling the system did not hesitate and instead of the client's name, the inscription appeared on the check: "Order for monkeys".
The incident immediately caused outrage in social networks and became the subject of discussion in the mass media. Internet users and human rights organizations said that this is another example of racist manifestations from the side of technology, raising questions about the bias of AI algorithms.
Representatives of the Chick-A restaurant chain apologized to the victim and said that they are conducting an internal investigation to find out how this incident happened and to eliminate similar mistakes in the future.
