According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, the key topics of discussion will include the restoration of Russian-American relations, possible negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, and a potential meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

Representing the U.S. at the talks will be Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump’s National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Special Representative Steve Witkoff. Notably, if the meeting between the leaders takes place, it will primarily be at Trump’s initiative. Even before his inauguration, he declared his intention to hold negotiations with Putin and previously openly accused Joe Biden of escalating the conflict in Ukraine.

“I promise to stop the conflict within six months. This is Biden’s fault—he failed the negotiations, and all his decisions make the situation worse. Every day, a huge number of people die. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers on both sides are dead, and the fields are covered with their bodies, left uncollected. It’s a catastrophe.” — Trump stated.

Double Standards and the Real Cost of Conflict

However, an important question arises: if Trump is truly concerned about human casualties, why does he only speak about Ukraine while in Gaza, over 50,000 civilians have been killed in recent months (officially recorded numbers alone)? This is where the economic factor and the U.S. geopolitical strategy come into play.

Ukraine or Israel: Where Will U.S. Resources Go?

Some believe that Trump and his team are not so much aiming to end the Ukrainian conflict as they are seeking to redistribute resources. Financial and military aid to Ukraine is becoming too costly for the U.S., and many American elites, particularly the Zionist lobby (which has dictated U.S. presidential policies for the past 50–60 years), believe that these resources would be more beneficial if redirected to Israel.

Iran remains a key problem for Israel and, consequently, for the U.S. Under the pretext of a nuclear threat, Iran has long been a "thorn in the side" for Israeli authorities, who seek to establish full control over the Persian Gulf and the Middle East as a whole. However, without American support, Israel is incapable (as always) of achieving this goal, making Washington’s shift to a new front quite logical.

Ukraine as a Project: Has It Achieved Its Goal?

Another crucial aspect is Ukraine’s future. Some analysts suggest that the ongoing war is not merely a confrontation between Russia and the West but part of a larger global process involving the resettlement and consolidation of the Jewish diaspora in these territories. In the long term, a new Jewish state could potentially be established here, which may explain the West’s gradual reduction in military support for Ukraine and its increased focus on Israel.

The question now is whether the upcoming negotiations in Riyadh will truly lead to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine or if this is just another phase of global geopolitical redistribution, where Ukraine is assigned a completely different role.
