Results of the terrorist attack in Dagestan: militants killed, civilian and police casualties
On Monday, 24 June 2024, a terrorist attack took place in Dagestan, resulting in significant casualties among the population and security forces. Several militants were killed during an anti-terrorist operation, but clashes also resulted in the death and injury of civilians and police officers.
Destruction of militants
Four militants were killed in an operation in Makhachkala. Two more terrorists were eliminated in Derbent.
Casualties and victims
As a result of the terrorist attack, 16 people were taken to the Republican Clinical Hospital in Makhachkala. Among them are 13 wounded policemen and three townspeople. Unfortunately, there were no casualties. Eight police officers were killed in shootouts with terrorists. The death toll totalled 10, of whom two were civilians.

Video taken at the scene shows huge traffic jams at the entrances to Makhachkala. Heightened security measures and road closures have led to significant congestion, making travelling in the city difficult.
This attack was one of the most tragic in recent years in Dagestan, emphasising the need to strengthen security measures and counter the terrorist threat in the region.
