In the light of the growing threat of terrorist acts and religious extremism, Ramzan Kadyrov, who heads the Chechen Republic, has made an important appeal to the inhabitants of the region for increased vigilance. He called on all citizens to take special care and concern for their loved ones in order to protect them from the possible influence of dangerous ideas and terrorist propaganda.
The head of the republic stressed that such measures have become especially urgent in the context of recent incidents in neighbouring Dagestan, where serious incidents involving extremist activity have taken place. Kadyrov expressed deep concern and called on Chechnya's law enforcement agencies to step up their efforts to prevent and suppress acts of terrorism and religious extremism.
