Public Resonance Kuandyk Bishimbayev PART 2
Public Resonance Kuandyk Bishimbayev PART 2

Despite the fact that the general public became aware of Aitbek Amangeldy's non-traditional sexual orientation mainly through the defence of the former Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Bishimbayev, who, acting in the interests of his client, focused solely on attempts to posthumously discredit the family of the brutally murdered Saltanat Nukenova and herself, apparently assuming that this could somehow influence the jury's decision, the very fact that Amangeldy does lead an antisocial lifestyle is evident.

Thus, the impression is that Amangeldy is now actually being used for his own purposes: the defence of the brutal murderer Bishimbayev, who tortured Nukenova for six and a half hours, realising the severity of the injuries inflicted on her, and then tried, through his cousin Bakhytzhan Baizhanov, to cover up the traces of the particularly grave crime he had committed; and Amangelda's lover, represented by Rakhim Oshakbayev, director of the Talap Applied Research Centre, and other unspoken leaders of the "LGBT movement" in Kazakhstan, who hope to get maximum dividends from the most high-profile trial in the history of independent Kazakhstan at Amangelda's expense.

Oshakbayev, it must be assumed, has either already received an offer or is banally well aware of the enormous foreign funding that such foreign structures as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), National Endowment for Democracy (NED - funded by the U.S. Congress) and Open Society Foundation (OSF - funded by the structures of George Soros) are ready to allocate annually for defence, This, to all appearances, prompted him, through his lover Amangeldy, to create a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO), which would eventually change the vector of its work from the protection of women victims of domestic violence to the protection of Kazakhstani homosexuals from "violence on the part of Kazakhstani society and the state". There are many examples of such transformation of NGOs promoted by high-profile scandals in the post-Soviet space, and the technology itself is well-tested. At the same time, the Oshakbayev-Amangeldy plan, apparently, has already begun to be realised in some sense, because in his recent public speeches Nukenova's brother has increasingly begun to move away from issues related directly to the Bishimbayev trial and the high-profile and brutal murder, gradually shifting the focus to a certain dominance of the "culture of violence" in Kazakhstan.
