Palestine’s Permanent Observer to the UN, Riyad Mansour, has responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement that Palestinians should "go to a good place."

What Did Mansour Say?

  • "For those who want to send them to a 'happy, good place': let them return to their ancestral homes in present-day Israel. These are good places, and they will be happy to return there," the diplomat stated.
  • He reminded that Palestinians were expelled from their homes during the Nakba and have the right to return.

Why Is This Important?

  • Trump previously suggested that Palestinians should leave Gaza, proposing that Jordan and Egypt take them in.
  • In response, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries emphasized that they will not allow the forced displacement of Palestinians.
  • The Palestinian leadership continues to demand the right of refugees to return to Israel, a major point of contention in the conflict.

Mansour’s remarks highlight the Palestinian rejection of U.S. and Israeli policies and further increase diplomatic tensions over Gaza’s future.
