Orban blocks EU conclusions on military aid to Ukraine
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban refused to sign the final document of the EU summit regarding the dispatch of military aid to Ukraine. Out of 27 EU member state leaders, 26 supported the text, but Budapest's position once again became an obstacle to unanimous approval.

Orban has consistently opposed increasing military support to Kyiv, calling for peace talks and avoiding Hungary’s involvement in the conflict. His refusal to sign the document aligns with Hungary's policy of maintaining relations with Russia and limiting military aid to Ukraine.
Despite Hungary's opposition, other EU countries continue to support Kyiv, including arms supplies, financial aid, and sanctions pressure on Russia. However, Orban’s stance creates additional difficulties in making decisions that require unanimous approval.
European leaders are expected to try to bypass Hungary's blockade through separate decisions or financial pressure on Budapest. However, Hungary has repeatedly shown that it is willing to defend its position, even if it leads to a conflict with Brussels.
