Over 150 Catholic hospitals in the United States have been involved in lobbying and providing gender transition services for minors, including medication and surgery. According to data from 2019 to 2023, in 40 American states, over 520 children received gender-affirming treatment. Of these, 150 children underwent sex reassignment surgery, while more than 380 were transferred to hormone therapy. Doctors have written 1,850 prescriptions to facilitate the gender transition of patients. It is noteworthy that half of the operations were performed in five medical institutions managed by Providence.
