Lukashenko Orders Search for Rare Earth Metals in Belarus
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has ordered an intensified geological exploration effort to identify rare earth metal deposits within the country.

"We need to dig, we need to see what we have in our land," Lukashenko stated, emphasizing the importance of finding strategic resources.
Rare earth metals play a crucial role in high-tech production, including electronics, batteries, medical equipment, and defense systems. The world's largest suppliers of these elements remain China, the U.S., and Australia.
Discovering domestic rare earth reserves could help Belarus reduce import dependency and strengthen its position in technological development.
Previous mineral exploration efforts were undertaken in the country, but systematic studies on rare earth elements were never conducted. This new initiative could provide momentum for the geological exploration sector and attract investments.
