Kremlin assesses peace initiatives on Ukraine

The press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitriy Peskov, has commented on the possibility of discussing peace initiatives on Ukraine. 

The Kremlin spokesman stressed that Russia welcomed any peace initiatives on Ukraine. According to him, Moscow is impressed by the Chinese side's proposal on a possible settlement of the conflict.

Earlier, China pledged to help achieve peace in Ukraine as soon as possible. Chinese President Xi Jinping made such a statement.

On 16 May, Putin arrived for the talks at the House of People's Congresses in Beijing. Before their start, an official meeting ceremony was held. Xi Jinping welcomed Putin to the square. Together they met the delegations of both countries, after which they listened to the anthems of Russia and China performed by a military band.
