Kazakhstan plans to introduce covert patrolling of suburban highways. The Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records reports that a new method of patrolling has been successfully tested in Atyrau region. Police officers used unmarked service vehicles equipped with modern photo-video recording systems.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) recommended that this practice be applied in all regions of the country. In addition, it is proposed to use drones to draw up schemes of road accidents. Violations are recorded automatically, and information about them goes to the Processing Center. The offender is then notified of the fine imposed.

This method allows for more effective traffic control and prompt identification of violators, which should help reduce the number of accidents and improve road safety.
