Kazakhstan hub in the heart of China
The Kazakhstan-China terminal in Xi'an has shown significant results since opening, increasing container transit from China through the port of Aktau tenfold. Rail freight transportation between Kazakhstan and China continues to grow, supporting the expansion of cargo volumes.
Since its opening, the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in Xi'an (PRC) has shown significant progress. The launch of the terminal has led to a tenfold increase in container transit from China along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) through the port of Aktau.
In February, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in the terminal opening ceremony via teleconference.
Rail freight transportation between Kazakhstan and China continues to grow every year. For the first five months of the current year, the volume of cargo along the Chinese direction increased by 12.4%, reaching 12.8 million tons.
This joint project, a terminal that handles up to 40% of container trains bound for Kazakhstan, significantly contributes to the increase in freight traffic.
