Kazakhstan and the EU are preparing for negotiations on visa facilitation
Official negotiations on the simplification of the visa regime for citizens of Kazakhstan to the EU countries will begin in 2025. This will be an important step for the rapprochement of Kazakhstan and the EU.
Kazakhstan and the European Union are preparing to start official negotiations on visa facilitation for Kazakhstanis. Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko said that the official launch of consultations on this issue is scheduled for 2025.
Since 2017, Kazakhstan has been providing visa-free travel for citizens of all EU countries. Now the country is waiting for a retaliatory step aimed at simplifying visa requirements for its citizens.
"In May 2023, an agreement was reached to start consultations on readmission and simplification of the visa regime. At this stage, the EU countries are conducting internal negotiations, and we expect to launch official negotiations in 2025," Vasilenko said.
Visa facilitation will be a significant step towards strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU, as well as bringing them closer together in economic, cultural and tourism aspects.
