Kazakh Banks Still Owe Billions to the State
President Demands Accountability as Government Prepares New Measures

Despite receiving state financial assistance, several Kazakh banks have yet to repay their debts. President reminded financial institutions: "You once received help, now it’s time to give back," emphasizing the need for fair cooperation.
Who Still Has Outstanding Debts?
According to the Agency for Financial Market Regulation, as of early 2025, the following banks still owe money to the state:
- Bank RBK
- Jusan Bank
- Bank CenterCredit (BCC)
- Eurasian Bank
- Nurbank
Meanwhile, Halyk Bank has fully repaid its debt, while Jusan Bank, Bank RBK, and BCC have partially returned funds.
What’s Next?
To speed up repayments, the government is considering additional measures. However, for now, these banks continue operating with state funds.
