Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the new dormitory, which accommodates 2,656 students, built through a public-private partnership. The dormitory consists of three blocks, each featuring:

  • Coworking spaces for study and collaboration.

  • Libraries and spacious learning areas.
  • Sports and commercial facilities, including cafes and shops.

Special attention was given to inclusivity. The dormitory’s design and infrastructure meet accessibility standards, ensuring a barrier-free environment for students with special needs.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education briefed the President on efforts to establish an academic hub in Kazakhstan. Key initiatives include:

  • Opening branches of leading international universities.
  • Increasing the number of modern dormitories for students.

During the visit, Tokayev also commented on the emergence of metapneumovirus, a new infection causing public concern. He urged calm, stating:

“Everyone is talking about this new infection. There’s no need for panic. We must continue strengthening cooperation with China.”
