The Lebanese army stated that this action constitutes a violation of sovereignty and the ceasefire terms agreed upon in November 2023. Lebanon's military command condemned Israel's actions, calling them a "flagrant violation of international resolutions" and demanded the intervention of the international community.

This is the first such incident since October 2023, when an armed conflict broke out between Israel and Hezbollah. During the hostilities, Israel carried out air and artillery strikes on military targets in Lebanon, exacerbating the situation in the border areas.

Under the ceasefire agreement, Israel was obligated to withdraw its troops from southern Lebanon by January 26, but the deadline was extended to February 18. However, the Israeli army continues to hold five border posts, which has caused discontent in Beirut.

Lebanese military officials claim that since the ceasefire, Israel has committed more than 1,100 border violations. As a result of these incidents, at least 84 people have been killed, and more than 280 have been wounded.

The intrusion of the pilgrims and Israel's military presence in disputed areas create additional tension, increasing the risk of renewed armed clashes along the border.
