Japanese hijabs by Kobayashi Kaori: harmony of cultures
Kobayashi Kaori turned the traditions of the Japanese kimono into stylish hijabs, gaining recognition from Muslims around the world.
Japanese designer Kobayashi Kaori has opened a new perspective on Islamic fashion by creating the Xia xia Hijab Japan brand, which combines the aesthetic traditions of the Japanese kimono with the norms of Islam. Her story began in 2017 with a trip to Malaysia, where she was inspired by the beauty of Muslim clothing. After returning to her homeland, Kaori began experimenting with silk and chiffon to create unique hijabs adapted to different climatic conditions. The result was a collection that gained popularity among Muslim tourists. In 2023, she opened her first store in Tokyo, and now her brand is represented throughout Japan. Despite the growing demand, the designer retains personal control over each design, inspired by vintage Japanese kimonos. Kaori strives to strengthen mutual understanding between cultures by creating clothes that combine tradition and modernity.
