According to the publication Yedioth Ahronoth, the Israeli Mossad spied on Italian Prime Minister Georgia Melani and her entourage, cooperating with a private detective firm in Milan, where former security personnel work. The firm allegedly stole the personal data of politicians and public figures for possible extortion. As a result of the investigation, four people were arrested, and dozens are under investigation. Cybersecurity experts suggest that the servers of the Italian Ministry of the Interior may have been hacked. Italian media called the incident a "high-level conspiracy" involving the mafia and intelligence officers. Giorgia Meloni condemned the plot as a "threat to democracy," and Defense Minister Guido Crosetto demanded an urgent parliamentary investigation into the possible leak of state secrets.
