Iran puts military on alert amid U.S. pressure
Tehran rejects direct talks with Washington and warns regional states against supporting a potential strike.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered the country’s armed forces to a heightened state of military readiness. The decision comes in response to growing pressure from the United States, which is demanding Tehran’s immediate return to direct negotiations over its nuclear program.
A senior Iranian official stated that Iran categorically rejects the ultimatum-style rhetoric and will not give in to “blackmail” from the U.S. president, who recently hinted at possible large-scale bombings if talks fail.
In response, Iran issued formal warnings to several regional states — Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Turkey, and Bahrain. The message made clear that any form of support for a U.S. strike, including the use of airspace or territory, would be considered an act of hostility and provoke consequences.
The escalation follows statements about a possible U.S. military operation against Iran should diplomacy be fully exhausted. Iranian authorities have made it clear they view any threats as an infringement on sovereignty and are preparing to defend themselves.
