An interesting infographic on the spread of Christianity in the Middle East shows the significant presence of Christians in the region, despite the predominance of Islam. Traditionally, large Christian communities exist in Egypt (Copts), Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. However, it is surprising that even in Saudi Arabia and other oil-rich Gulf states, Christian communities can be found.

Today, Christians make up between 10 and 15% of the population of the entire Middle East. The largest Christian community is concentrated in Egypt, followed by Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. In addition to the Arab countries, significant numbers of Christians live in Iran and Turkey, where they also form important religious minorities.

These data highlight the cultural and religious diversity of a region that is often perceived as exclusively Muslim.
