Kazakhstan has updated its strategy to increase women's participation in peace and security, altn.news reported citing the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The plan, created on the recommendations of the UN Security Council, includes 34 initiatives that will be implemented from 2022 to 2025.

Kazakhstan will train women soldiers, teaching them the skills needed to protect civilians, especially women and children, during conflicts. The Government plans to actively support women serving in the security forces (Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations) and other government agencies by promoting their career development and leadership positions.

In the field of security and defense, gender differences will be taken into account to provide women with equal opportunities for professional development and training.

Women diplomats will be actively involved in international negotiations on disarmament, arms non-proliferation and other key aspects of global security.
