Houthis Condemn Attacks

The Houthi political bureau described the attacks as a "treacherous and sacrilegious act of aggression." In a statement, the group claimed that the strikes were retaliation for Yemen’s support of Palestine but declared that this would not stop them from fulfilling their "duty to Gaza."

Scale of the Airstrikes

According to Houthi reports, the strikes targeted a residential area in the Yemeni capital. Nine people were killed, and nine others were injured. Witnesses reported explosions in the Jiraf district, causing significant destruction.

US President Donald Trump announced the launch of large-scale airstrikes against the Houthis. He stated that he had ordered "powerful and decisive actions" to halt Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping routes.

"Your time is up, and your attacks must stop starting today. If not, you will face a hell like never before," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Houthis Ready to Strike Back

The Houthis emphasized that "this aggression will not go unanswered." The group pledged escalation and declared full readiness for retaliatory strikes.

The Houthis have been attacking Israeli-linked ships since late 2023, citing support for Gaza as their justification. Following a January ceasefire agreement, attacks were paused, but on March 2, the Houthis threatened to resume strikes after Israel blocked humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Escalation Threatens Regional Stability

The growing conflict raises concerns over regional instability and could trigger a new phase of confrontation between the Houthis and the United States.
