altn.news - Covers the information with reference to the source of the publication of the Greek newspaper "Kathimerini", from which it follows that the Greek authorities, represented by the Prosecutor's Office of the Greek city of Piraeus filed criminal charges against eight citizens of Kazakhstan in connection with their involvement in a fire that occurred on the island of Hydra, south of the capital of Greece - Athens, which destroyed more than 120 hectares of relic pine forest.

Greek law enforcement authorities in the course of preliminary investigation managed to find out that the fire on the Greek island of Hydra, caused by fireworks, which, as initially assumed, was launched from the luxury 54-metre yacht "PERSEFONI I", which was located off the coast of the island in the Aegean Sea and chartered by seventeen citizens of Kazakhstan, was in fact caused by fireworks that were not launched from the ship, but were set by citizens of Kazakhstan, who got off the yacht on the beach of Agios Nikolaos.

It should be reminded that it was initially claimed that the citizens of Kazakhstan, who were in Greece as tourists and had rented a luxury 54-metre yacht "PERSEFONI I" for 290 thousand dollars a week, were directly involved in the fireworks. However, when they failed to do so, they fled the scene on the rented yacht and Greek law enforcement authorities were eventually able to detain and arrest only thirteen crew members of the 54-metre luxury yacht PERSEFONI I while the vessel was already anchored off the city of Athens.

The Greek authorities have now officially requested assistance from the Kazakh authorities, as the yacht's tenants left Greece without being questioned by the Greek authorities.

Despite the fact that the prosecutor's office in the Greek city of Piraeus did not officially disclose the details of those Kazakh citizens facing criminal charges, and only specified that two minor Kazakh citizens would not be prosecuted, it is apparently about the closest business partner of the son-in-law of the first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev Timur Kulibayev - Kazakh oligarch Daniyar Abulgazin, his son, as well as the oligarch's wife Aidana Suleimenova, head of one of Kazakhstan's largest charitable foundations, Umut Shayakhmetova, chairman of the board of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan (Halyk Bank), and her husband Beimbet Shayakhmetova, a former top manager of the KMG International NV oil company, and their daughter.

The filing of criminal charges by the Greek authorities against eight Kazakh nationals for their involvement in a fire on the island of Hydra, south of the Greek capital Athens, which destroyed more than 120 hectares of relic pine forest, directly refutes the assumptions of a number of Kazakh media outlets, which had previously claimed that all responsibility for the incident lay solely with the owners of the 54-metre luxury yacht "PERSEFONI I" and crew members, and the ship's tenants, represented by political and business interests, were responsible for the fire.

In reality, all thirteen crew members of the 54 metre luxury yacht "PERSEFONI I", who are also charged with involvement in the Hydra Island fire, were arrested and detained only because they could not, unlike the political and business elite of Kazakhstan, leave the Greek territory promptly. However, after a preliminary investigation, eleven of the thirteen crew members were released on bail with an obligation to report to the Greek police on a monthly basis, but the ship's captain and his assistant are still in custody.

It is noteworthy that the information about the filing of criminal charges against eight citizens of Kazakhstan in connection with their involvement in the fire that occurred on the island of Hydra by the prosecutor's office of the Greek city of Piraeus, clearly demonstrates that buying the scandal in the socio-political space of Kazakhstan and Russia, namely the so-called "blocking of negative publications" in the Kazakhstani and Russian segment of the Internet, in particular, on information sites, Internet portals, mass media and in various circles.

It is noteworthy that the information about the filing of criminal charges against eight citizens of Kazakhstan in connection with their involvement in the fire that occurred on the island of Hydra by the prosecutor's office of the Greek city of Piraeus, clearly demonstrates that buying the scandal in the socio-political space of Kazakhstan and Russia, namely the so-called "blocking of negative publications" in the Kazakh and Russian segment of the Internet, In particular, on information websites, Internet portals, mass media and various large YouTube and Telegram channels, on which the closest business partner of the son-in-law of the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev Timur Kulibayev - Kazakh oligarch Daniyar Abulgazin - spent about 350 thousand dollars. The scandal did not produce any significant results and only allowed a team of legal, PR and reputation management specialists to make money from the scandal, as well as the dirty editorial boards of Kazakhstani mass media and authors of large YouTube and Telegram channels, who either completely ignored the incident or tried to deliberately misinform the Kazakhstani public, claiming that on board the luxurious 54-metre yacht "PERSEFONI I" were not representatives of the political and business elite of Kazakhstan, but wealthy citizens of Kazakhstan.
