EU and Partners to Invest Over €10 Billion in the Trans-Caspian Corridor
More than €10 billion will be invested by European and international financial institutions to develop the Trans-Caspian transport corridor.

This was announced at a press conference in Ashgabat by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
According to her, the funding will focus on improving infrastructure, increasing throughput capacity, and enhancing the logistical efficiency of the route, which spans Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, and the Caucasus.
The EU views the Trans-Caspian route as a key alternative to traditional transit corridors, particularly amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.
Kallas emphasized that the project will receive comprehensive support under the EU’s connectivity strategy between Europe and Asia. Financial institutions such as the European Investment Bank and other international donors will also be involved.
The Trans-Caspian transport corridor plays a strategic role for the region’s countries, providing access to European and Asian markets while bypassing unstable routes.
