Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a series of significant statements addressing both domestic and international challenges. He stressed that Europe is experiencing a political and economic deadlock, which affects all areas of life—from defense to international prestige. According to Erdoğan, the power vacuum in EU countries, particularly evident in the aftermath of recent elections, is being filled by far-right demagogues, threatening democratic processes.

Erdoğan stated that only Turkey and its full membership in the EU can help the European Union overcome this crisis. He emphasized that Ankara remains a vital strategic partner for Europe and can offer sustainable solutions in security, economy, and politics. However, despite this, Turkey’s accession process to the EU remains stalled.

The Turkish leader also focused on the situation in Gaza, sharply criticizing Western countries and international organizations, which he claimed had failed the test of humanity. Erdoğan reminded that over 61,000 civilians, including women and children, have fallen victim to the war. In his view, the West's inability to stop the violence and protect civilians is a serious blow to its moral authority.

Turkey also reiterated its readiness to facilitate Russian-Ukrainian peace negotiations. Erdoğan stated that Ankara is prepared to play a key mediating role, helping transform the negotiation process into a lasting peace. He emphasized that Turkey has long called for an end to the conflict and has been actively seeking diplomatic pathways to achieve a compromise.

The Turkish president pointed out that the war has already claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and inflicted heavy losses on both countries. He stressed that continued hostilities will only deepen the humanitarian crisis, making an immediate political solution necessary. Erdoğan confirmed that Turkey is ready to leverage its full diplomatic potential to help end the conflict and establish conditions for regional stability.

Erdoğan’s speech highlights Turkey’s active role in global politics and its aspiration to become a central player in resolving international crises. Ankara continues to position itself as an independent yet influential actor, capable of engaging with both the West and the East.
