Egypt and the US Agree on Gaza Recovery Plan
Egypt and the US have agreed to continue coordinating efforts for the recovery of the Gaza Strip.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti met with the White House representative for the region to discuss the Gaza recovery plan. Both sides agreed to continue consultations and coordination on this plan, which will form the foundation for efforts to rebuild Gaza and ensure stability in the Middle East.
The recovery plan was approved at an emergency summit of Arab leaders in Cairo on March 4, 2025, and discussed in detail during the meeting. Egyptian sources reported that the plan will be adapted to incorporate US proposals. Importantly, the preparation of 5,000 to 8,000 police forces in Gaza, coordinated by Egypt and Jordan, was agreed upon.
The US highly praised Egypt's efforts to establish peace and stability in the region. Qatar also confirmed that Arab foreign ministers discussed this plan at a meeting in Doha, which was also attended by the US Special Representative for the Middle East, Steve Whitcoff. Both sides expressed their intention to continue negotiations and coordination on Gaza's recovery.
