Chinese Man Arrested After Creating a Fake Warrant for His Own Arrest
A man in China, identified as Wang, created and posted a fake arrest warrant for himself online, offering $4,000 as a reward for his capture. While intended as a joke, the stunt led to his detention by police for spreading false information.
A Warrant for Himself
Bored and dissatisfied with his life, Wang crafted a fake arrest warrant and shared it on social media. The warrant included a reward of $4,000 for his capture, accompanied by his photograph.
In the fabricated notice, Wang accused himself of extortion and claimed to possess a submachine gun with 500 rounds of ammunition.
Police Response
The fake warrant quickly drew the attention of law enforcement. Police located Wang and detained him, only to discover he had no weapons and no history of extortion.
During questioning, Wang admitted that he created the post out of boredom and frustration. However, authorities took the matter seriously, noting that the fake information could have caused public concern.
Criminal Charges
Wang now faces criminal charges for spreading false information. Although his prank posed no real threat, experts believe his case will serve as a warning to others who might consider similar stunts.
