China supports ICC decision to arrest Netanyahu and Galant
China expressed support for the ICC arrest warrant for Netanyahu and Galant, accused of war crimes, and called for respect for international law.
China has officially expressed support for the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
Both are accused of war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Lin Qian said: "China adheres to the principles of justice and international law in the Palestinian conflict and supports all international initiatives aimed at their observance."
She also stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire, humanitarian assistance to the victims in Gaza and condemned violations of international humanitarian law. China expressed the hope that the ICC will continue to act objectively and impartially, strictly abiding by the Rome Statute.
