China introduces penalties for incorrect product labeling
In China, entrepreneurs will be punished for providing false information on products. The new law regulates liability for incorrect labeling, including the composition, expiration date and manufacturer.
The Supreme People's Court of China has issued a new interpretative act that imposes strict penalties on entrepreneurs who provide false information on product labels. According to the act, those who deceive consumers by providing false information on product ingredients, production date, expiration date, and the name and address of the manufacturer will be held accountable by law. This act is aimed at protecting consumers' health and their right to obtain accurate information about products.
In addition, the new law regulates the procedure for handling disputes related to the activities of professional agents engaged in the purchase of goods that do not meet safety requirements. It also provides for measures against dishonest buyers who may intentionally slander sellers in order to make fraudulent claims.
