Syrian President Bashar al-Assad criticized the current situation in Palestine at the Riyadh summit, noting that the Palestinians are deprived of even the basic right to life. According to him, despite the desire for peace, the Arab world receives only blood and destruction. Assad stressed that it is urgently necessary to stop the massacre, genocide and ethnic cleansing, and suggested reviewing existing mechanisms to achieve justice. Assad also called on Arab leaders to decide on further actions: condemn, boycott or appeal to the international community. In addition, he questioned the status of Israel, saying that it is a "colonial entity" and its population is "herds of settlers close to barbarism."
