Azerbaijan Calls for a Peaceful Resolution

Amid the ongoing Palestinian crisis, Azerbaijan has officially expressed support for the two-state solution, which envisions the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov confirmed that Baku aligns with UN Security Council resolutions, which have repeatedly affirmed the Palestinian right to self-determination.

Ceasefire in Gaza and Regional Diplomacy

Bayramov also praised the ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic efforts to stabilize the region.

Additionally, he recognized Turkey’s significant role in the Syrian peace process. Ankara remains a key player in regional negotiations, influencing the geopolitical balance in Syria.

Political Implications

Azerbaijan’s statement reflects its neutral and balanced foreign policy, maintaining diplomatic ties with both Muslim-majority nations and Israel.

Backing the two-state solution aligns with the stance of the EU, UN, and most of the international community but contrasts with the position of the Israeli government, which seeks to retain control over occupied territories.

Further diplomatic engagements between Baku and key regional actors are expected in the near future.
