Armenia has frozen its membership in the CSTO, stating its threat to the country's security
The Prime Minister of Armenia stated that the country has frozen its membership in the CSTO, arguing that the organization not only does not provide security, but also poses threats to the sovereignty and statehood of Armenia. At the same time, Yerevan does not break off relations with Russia and the EAEU, and does not consider the possibility of joining the EU.
Armenia has decided to freeze its membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), citing the fact that the organization does not fulfill its obligations to ensure the security of the country, as well as poses threats to its sovereignty and statehood. The Prime Minister of Armenia, quoted by Interfax, stressed that at the same time the country is not going to break off relations with Russia and the EAEU. However, Armenia is ready to consider the possibility of joining the European Union if such a prospect presents itself. In addition, Yerevan plans to increase trade turnover with the EU, strengthening economic ties with European partners.
