Trump Speeds Up Weapons Deliveries to Israel, Bypassing Traditional Procedures
Rubio justified his decision by invoking emergency powers, which enabled the release of previously delayed arms shipments that had been blocked by the Biden administration.
"The decision to lift the partial arms embargo imposed by the Biden administration, which had restricted certain weapons and ammunition deliveries to Israel, is yet another sign that Israel has no stronger ally in the White House than President Trump," Rubio stated.
Since Trump's return to power, the U.S. has already approved arms shipments to Israel totaling $12 billion and plans to continue its support. This decision was made without congressional involvement, bypassing traditional legislative procedures.
Earlier, in late January, Trump also lifted Biden’s ban on the supply of 900-kilogram bombs to Israel. Additionally, he proposed a concept for full U.S. control over the Gaza Strip, referring to it as a potential "Riviera of the Middle East."
At the same time, within the U.S. administration, discussions are ongoing regarding the possibility of completely halting military aid to Ukraine. If such a decision is made, it could jeopardize the supply of radars, ammunition, vehicles, and missiles worth billions of dollars.
Against this backdrop, it is becoming evident that Washington is shifting its priorities in favor of Israel. This confirms speculation that U.S. resources are being directed toward strengthening key allies, even at the expense of those previously promised support.
The decision to accelerate military aid to Israel has drawn criticism from some U.S. lawmakers, who argue that such moves could escalate tensions in the Middle East and violate established mechanisms for arms export control.
Nevertheless, the Trump administration continues to demonstrate unwavering support for Israel, using unconventional methods and bypassing bureaucratic procedures.
