Trump Calls for Less Focus on Putin and More Concern About Internal Threats to the US
Donald Trump sharply criticized those who, in his view, focus exclusively on foreign policy issues. He stated that instead of worrying about Russia and Vladimir Putin, the US must urgently address internal problems that threaten national security.
Trump emphasized that the US is facing an unprecedented influx of illegal immigrants, some of whom, he claimed, belong to criminal organizations, drug traffickers, and violent offenders. He pointed out that crime rates in border areas are surging due to the activity of Mexican cartels and illegal drug trade.
According to Trump, if decisive action is not taken, the US could repeat Europe’s mistakes, where weak migration policies have led to increased crime and social instability. He argued that EU countries made a strategic mistake by not addressing illegal immigration properly, and that the US must learn from their failures.
As immediate measures, he proposed:
- Stricter border control
- Enhanced efforts to combat organized crime
- Increased deportation of illegal immigrants posing security threats
- Harsher punishments for drug traffickers
- Creation of specialized units to fight Mexican cartels
Speaking to his supporters, Trump also criticized the Democratic administration, calling its immigration policies too lenient. He argued that current measures are ineffective, and that the US needs a complete policy overhaul to prevent a security collapse.
Republicans are already drafting new initiatives to tighten immigration policies, including:
- New border barriers
- Stricter penalties for illegal crossings
- Additional funding for border security forces
Trump made it clear that his political strategy will focus on restoring order within the US rather than engaging in external conflicts. He stressed that the US must protect its borders and national interests instead of wasting resources on geopolitical disputes.
