The US holds China responsible for spreading the coronavirus and demands $24 billion

A Missouri state court has ruled to demand $24 billion from China as compensation for the damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chinese government is accused of hiding information about the virus, which, according to the court, led to a global crisis.

The Chinese side called this decision "legally null and void" and threatened tough countermeasures. A representative of the Chinese embassy stated that Beijing will respond within the framework of international law.

At the same time, the FBI and the US Department of Energy are confident that the pandemic began due to a leak from a lab in Wuhan. This provides additional grounds for pressure on China.
