The case against high-ranking employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan is submitted to court
‘A preventive measure in the form of detention was authorised by the investigative court against the suspects. The criminal case is considered on the merits by the military court of Akmola garrison,’ - stated in the message.
According to Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other information in the interests of the investigation is not subject to disclosure.
In accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 77 of the Constitution and part 1 of Article 19 of the Code of Criminal Procedure everyone is considered innocent until his guilt is not established by an effective court verdict.
As early as 20 July 2023, it became known that the Chairman of the Fire Service Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the heads of the Emergency Situations Department of Shymkent and Zhetysu oblast were found guilty of bribery. Then Anticor reported that they were suspected of systematically receiving bribes from entrepreneurs for patronage in the field of fire safety, forcing organisations to purchase their services by entering into contracts and ensuring timely payment for them.
At the time of disclosure of the case, Nurbolat Derbisov was the Chairman of the Fire Service Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Madiyar Zhaksibayev headed the Emergency Situations Department of Shymkent, and Bauyrzhan Izbasarov headed the Emergency Situations Department of Zhetysu region.
