Protests erupt across the U.S.: thousands rally against Trump and Musk
Mass protests have swept across the United States, targeting the policies of Donald Trump and initiatives by Elon Musk. In Boston alone, thousands took to the streets — part of over 1,200 coordinated demonstrations nationwide. Protesters carried signs defending democracy, minority rights, and social justice. Similar rallies occurred in Canada, Mexico, and later in Berlin, Paris, and London.
The protests were sparked by actions and statements from the Trump administration related to mass deportations, the dismissal of federal employees, cuts to healthcare funding, and the rollback of transgender protections. Additional outrage followed Elon Musk’s proposed “Department of Efficiency,” aimed at enforcing strict reforms in public administration.
Protesters voiced opposition to new import tariffs, interference in the education system, and the elimination of various social benefits. In Washington, more than 20,000 demonstrators gathered. Many carried Ukrainian and Palestinian symbols, accusing the government of double standards and harsh domestic policies.
Despite the scale of the protests, Donald Trump has remained silent, publicly ignoring the unrest. The White House claims the new measures are intended to restore balance to the social welfare system and eliminate benefits for undocumented immigrants. Protesters, however, remain skeptical and are demanding the full reversal of the controversial policies.
Spring 2025 has become a politically charged moment in the U.S. These protests — uniquely targeting both the president and one of the country’s most influential businessmen — reflect a growing wave of public distrust. Demonstrations continue, and experts warn of escalating political instability in the weeks ahead.
